Arts & Crafts Festival
Early in the 1970s a local resident, Linda Dunn, decided Westfield should host an Arts and Crafts Show. For nearly 20 years Ms. Dunn was the effort behind this long running event. During the 1990s the YWCA became the sponsor and it's remained a part of the community and the YWCA since then.
The focus of the show has always been is high quality, hand crafted items. The organizers work each year to review the vendors, critique their products and maintain the highest level of talent and a unique mix of creations.
The festival is held in Moore Park, at the intersection of Rts. 20 and 394, in the heart of the village of Westfield. The park is tree lined and provides shade for the vendors and visitors alike. It's a grassy area with some sidewalks - it's accessible and easy to get around in.
There is no admission charge and the show goes on rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle service is available, local not for profit agencies offer food and beverages for sale. Many area restaurants and taverns are within walking distance.
The 2012 show dates are July 27 and 28, Friday and Saturday.
New is the addition of the Farmers Market to the festival, providing both festival attendees and locals with a selection of local fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers and Amish favorites.
Crafters interested in being a part of the 2012 show are invited to contact the YWCA to be added to the mailing list.
The 2012 application form is available on line, questions can be directed to the YWCA at 716.326.2011 or by e-mail to ywadmin@ywcawestfield.org.
