February: A Month of Legacy, Strength & Empowerment

February is a month of love—love for ourselves, love for our community, and love for the progress we’re building together.

January was just the beginning of a year filled with purpose.

If you missed our new programs, don’t worry—there’s so much more ahead!
We’re growing, evolving, and bringing even more opportunities for connection, wellness, and leadership to our community.

Black History Is More Than a Month—It’s a Movement.
This February is
a time to honor the change makers who have paved the way for justice, equity, and empowerment.
Leaders like Harriet Tubman, Ella Baker, Shirley Chisholm, and Kamala Harris have embodied the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women—the very foundation of YWCA Westfield.
Their resilience reminds us why our work continues today.

By being part of YWCA, you’re investing in a mission that stands for justice, freedom, and dignity for all. This month, we encourage you to celebrate Black History Month by uplifting Black voices, learning from history, and advocating for a more equitable future.

Honoring Black History MonthThis month, we celebrate the resilience, achievements, and leadership of Black change makers who have paved the way for justice, equity, and empowerment.

Their legacies remind us why our mission—eliminating racism and empowering women—is more important than ever.

Join us in learning, honoring, and taking action throughout February.

Key Dates to Celebrate This Month:

February 5 – National Girls & Women in Sports Day

Sports teach confidence, leadership, and perseverance.
YWCA has long supported access to athletics for all girls, ensuring a level playing field for future generations. Join us for Girls’ Night, where young women connect, support one another, and build empowerment through shared experiences.
Plus, stay tuned as we continue expanding programs that uplift and support girls and women in sports!

February 11 – International Day of Women and Girls in Science

STEM fields belong to everyone. This day celebrates women breaking barriers in science and technology and reminds us why equal opportunities in education and careers matter.

As we celebrate these milestones and continue working toward a more just and inclusive world, we invite you to be part of the movement.
