I have now been at the wonderful YWCA Westfield for 11 months and I couldn’t be happier! When I pull in every morning I am genuinely happy and excited to be here. I have met so many wonderful people and been to so many fun events and have even joined a few planning committees now! My goal is to be fully involved with this community and to listen to your wants and needs.
I am also trying to be very involved in YWCA USA. I have been to Rochester to meet with the NY YWCA’s, went to Atlanta to meet with YWCA USA about creating a strategic plan, also to Albany to see how we can lobby for more money here in Chautauqua County and finally to Washington D.C. for our annual conference.
In October I've been invited to a Leadership Conference in Chicago and next week I will be visiting YWCA of the Niagara Frontier and YWCA Genesee County to get an idea of how a very small YWCA runs and how a very large YWCA runs.
By visiting and talking with all these people and places, I want to make sure that the decisions that I am making for you are calculated and well thought out. I want to make sure they are in line with not only YWCA Westfield but the mission of YWCA which is to EMPOWER our women and END racism.
We’ve been at the forefront of the biggest issues of the day for over 160 years nationally and 125 years in Westfield. We are working to improve the lives of women, girls and communities through advocacy, local programming and services.
Please, stop in to see me! I’d love to hear from you!
