From the Executive Director
Fall is finally here and I couldn’t be happier. The change of season always seems to bring new energy and a sense of new beginnings. Almost like a new chapter in your favorite book. Autumn brings such a sweet smell. It’s a mixture of dried leaves, smoke from the chimneys and the sweet smell of grapes and baked apples in the air.
“Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.” — Henry David Thoreau
We have been doing so much to welcome in the new season and we are loving it! We took down the old sign to give it a fresh new look and got rid of a lot of old furniture at our Community Yard Sale. We are working on a new roof and repairing the driveway as well.
Our next project will be to update our fitness center. With donations from some great members and community businesses, we hope to have a fresh new look by January. If you’d like to donate to our project please let me know.
Along with our makeover comes some health programming. In 8 sessions of our Whole Health Workshop series, we will touch on every aspect of health from financial health to the benefits of laughter, we will cover it all.
What type of programs would you like to see? We genuinely would love to hear your ideas. We have brought Terri McCubbin back as our Events Coordinator and she is ready to start planning for 2020! Please email Terri at email@example.com for any ideas you may have to work towards our mission and help build our community.
I like to end every message with this mission statement….
We’ve been at the forefront of the biggest issues of the day for over 160 years nationally and 125 years in Westfield. We are working to improve the lives of women, girls and communities through advocacy, local programming and services.
